About Frances Sweitzer

Frances Sweitzer is an artist who specializes in painting people and animals. She believes that the complexity of color and tone in these subject matters are challenging to paint and to view. For Frances Sweitzer, when she is painting, her immediate emotions and thoughts have the greatest influence in choice of colors. It is with this emphasis on color in her painting that she has won awards and shown her work in different exhibits.

In 1993, Ms. Sweitzer entered her paintings into a number of different shows, receiving accolades for her work at some. At the St. Augustine College Show, she placed Best in Show. She also received the Equal Award in the Oil, Acrylic, and Collage Show at the Suwannee Valley Regional in 1993. In addition, Frances Sweitzer was a member of the St. Augustine Art Association, as well as a part of the Senior Art Students of 1993 Exhibit at the University of North Florida; she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the school in 1993.

Along with her artwork, Frances Sweitzer has had substantial experience in the cosmetics industry. From 1994 until 1997, she held a position as an Account Executive with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Estee Lauder. While there, she was named Account Coordinator of the Year. Following her work there, Frances Sweitzer worked in cosmetic retail for Saks Fifth Avenue. From 2000 until 2007, she worked as the Regional Sales Manager for L’Oreal in the Southeast region of the United States.

In addition to painting, in her free time Frances Sweitzer enjoys drawing. She also enjoys traveling, and taking advantage of opportunities to visit art museums and read art history. Finally, she enjoys home design and home decorating.
